Wickford lady to donate blonde locks to children’s wig charity in support of other cancer victims

Amy Savill, from Wickford, was given the devastating news she has breast cancer at the age of 30, just three months ago, after finding a lump in her right breast and armpit crease.

Amy then had a Hickman line fitted in July in order for her to receive chemotherapy treatment, which starts on 12th September.

Gorgeous Amy has vowed to shave her hair, tomorrow, and donate to The Princess Trust, who provide real hair wigs, free of charge, to children across the UK and Ireland. Amy’s sister-in-law Haley said ‘We are so proud of Amy for thinking of others even when her world is being turned up side down.’

Courageous Amy popped into Pierre & James to speak to Sam, Director of The Essex Wig Centre, about what was on offer for her after her brave hair shave, which is tomorrow. After discussing in detail what Amy wanted, this is the beautiful result:

Haley has set up a JustGiving page where donations can be made to Breast Cancer Care, Amy’s choice of charity, so far a huge £2,400 has been raised. Click here to donate.

Well done Amy!
